The Twilight phenomenon began with the release of Meyer’s first book titled, “Twilight.” The final three in the series, “New Moon”, “Eclipse”, and “Breaking Dawn” were highly anticipated even before their release and have all been best-sellers. The Twilight series has sold over 100 million copies sold worldwide and have been translated into 38 different languages. This is where readers both male and female, young and old, were first introduced to the vampire-romance concept and the extreme popularity began, opening the doors for Meyer and others to greatly expand on the story-line in many different forms of media.
